boreasBoreas, the first monographic record devoted to David del Puerto that Tritó released just two months ago, continues to be warmly acclaimed by the public. This recording is formed by works that Del Puerto composed between 1997 and 2004. It thus features Adagio (1997), Fantasía Primera (1998), Mito (1999), Fantasía Segunda (2000) and the aforementioned Symphony no. 1 “Boreas”(2004).

This is quality music recorded by outstanding orchestras such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE), the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia. Allow us to recall that this record may be purchased on our web site.

Mozart Year at Tritó

As many of you will already be aware, this year, 2006, marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At Tritó we have always taken an active interest in Mozart’s music, especially in the area of recordings. Our catalogue currently includes three CDs directed by one of the great Mozart specialists of recent decades, the English conductor Sir Neville Marriner, and a repertoire which covers a good part of the great composer’s concertante music.

Our latest Mozart CD is the flautist Jaime Martín’s recordings of the flute concertos and the concerto for flute and harp (with Bryn Lewis on the harp), released in late 2005; the other two are a CD of the two symphonies concertantes (for wind instrument and for violin and viola) and a two-disk set of four of the concertos for wind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon).

The soloists on both recordings are members of the Cadaqués Orchestra. Finally, we ought to mention that we also have the score for Mozart’s 15th Symphony in the revised version by Neville Marriner.

santiago lancharesAlthough Santiago Lanchares started composing relatively late in life, at the age of 32, he has since become one of the leading names in contemporary Spanish music. After starting out in composition with chamber and orchestral works, in the nineties he shifted his focus to music for the piano. It is this latter music that Tritó will be publishing under the agreement.

Lanchares has recently received commissions from several artistic institutions in Spain, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

Tritó offers specialized books on string instruments

Posted by Marcel Soleda on September 30, 2005  |  Leave a comment

Tritó has always striven for excellence and completeness not only in sheet music and CDs but in specialized literature as well, as seen in our catalogue of books on string instruments. Among the titles we offer is The Vihuela De Mano And The Spanish Guitar, the best study ever undertaken on the builders of the “vihuela” and Spanish guitars. Equally interesting and important is La chitarra di liuteria, by Stefano Grondona and Luca Waldner, which explores the construction of the guitar during the 19th and 20th centuries, and which includes a CD with selected pieces by Llobet, Tàrrega, Ponce and others. Finally, one of the few books ever written about Spanish luthiery is Los luthiers españoles, by Ramón Pinto i Comas, which you will also find in our catalogue.
