Xavier Benguerel premieres Palau d’hivern at La Pedrera

This 22 February at the auditorium of La Pedrera in Barcelona the composer Xavier Benguerel premieres his latest work Palau d’hivern, four poems for soprano, clarinet and string quartet based on texts by Àlex Susanna. The piece, which is roughly fifteen minutes long, will be performed by the Quartet Glinka with Josep Fuster (clarinet) and Mónica Luezas (soprano). The programme also includes the version for reciter plus ten instruments of Benguerel’s 7 Faules de La Fontaine, performed by Joan Borràs (reciter) and members of the Orquestra Julià Carbonell de les Terres de Lleida.
Xavier Benguerel will be celebrating his 75th birthday throughout the year 2006.
